Chunky polymer clay bangle bracelet, sanded silky smooth. The beautiful blur pattern is reminiscent of abalone or mother-of-pearl
🌟Handmade bracelet in polymer clay.🌟
✨🤍💙 Shimmering blue bracelet done in mokume gane technique. Thin layers in different colours are stacked with silver coloured metal leaf, and then treated with this versatile technique that originally was developed for metalwork.
The result is a blue mother-of-pearl type surface with wonderful shifting hues and lovely details. 💙🤍✨
All my bangle bracelets (and some of the other pieces as well) are thoroughly sanded until they take on a beautiful, satin-like sheen. It is a time-consuming process, wherein I sand then with progressively finer grits (120-2000) until the surface feels like silk to the touch.
Both myself - I suffer from anxiety, Tourette’s and ADHD - and other people who have anxiety and/or are non-neurotypical, seem to find the tactile sensation of touching that particular unique type of surface very soothing, even this it’s not the typical kind of fidget jewellery. I sometimes call them “anxiety bracelets” just because of that nice, calming feeling of stroking your fingers over the smooth surface. ❤️
✨This is the reason my sanded bracelets are priced a bit higher than many of the other items. But first time your fingers touch them, you’ll understand why.✨
